The 7 Work From Home Essentials We All Should Have

So the majority of us are working from home now and its a tough adjustment. As a college student, all of my classes are online and students are starting to have a disconnect from their professors and classwork. Here’s a few items on my desk that I think will be helpful for your desk and hopefully keep you on track with school or work from home work.

Post It Notes

I’m sure you have used Post-Its, stickies, sticky notes, or whatever you call them. But how many times have they fallen of your desk and ended up on the bottom of a shoe somewhere. Yikes! If you’re a sticky note person like me, try these full stick notes. They are perfect! Like imagine taking that tiny strip of adhesive and rubbing it on the whole back of the note. Do they cost more? A little bit, but every centimeter of extra stick it worth it. I use them on my laptop, desk, even my wall!

Dual Monitors

So I lied and there’s only 6 products, but two monitors. These deserve to be counted twice for so many reasons. Let’s take the Sceptre 24 inch for example. This powerful monitor comes with 2 HDMI, a VGA, and audio input, output ports. Yep! This thing has speakers as well! Considering it’s under $130 this is definitely great for a first, second, or both monitors. Your one monitor or laptop screen is great, but an extra once increases productivity exponentially. Maybe you’re writing a paper and have research on one side and the paper on the other. Or maybe you want to see different sales metrics at the same time. Whatever you choose to use your computer for, I highly recommend a second screen.

Speakers

Most people might be fine with just earbuds and their laptop. But because I have a desktop, I decided to go big with the speakers too! I’ve had these GoGroove speakers for a few years now and they still work great! The speakers glow a nice bright blue as shown in the picture and they sound really good for the price. The set includes the sub-woofer + controller and the two bookshelf speakers. The sub-woofer handles bass really well because I can hear it pounding through the floor when I’m downstairs. Definitely recommend these to anyone who wants to spice up their desk and music listening experience.

Pens

Of course we all need pens at our desk, but these pens are special. These Tru Red Pens by Staples are really comfortable to write with and the ink looks so good on paper! As a lefty, I’m on the constant search for a pen that won’t dye my hand while taking notes, and I think the search stops here. The clips on these also actually clip! Every now and then you get that pen that just wont stay clipped to your pocket. Nope! These check all of my boxes.

Travel Mug

Before you say a single word, think. How many times have you spilled something at your desk. Coffee? Tea? Hot cocoa? Yeah, I’m sure most of us have at one point or another. I can’t even count how many times my coffee leaped from it mug and ended up creating a warm liquid layer on every surface around me. These leak-proof Contigo mugs solve that problem! The airtight, spill-proof, and keeping drinks warm for awhile model. I can fill this mug for my 8am and slowly sip it throughout the day, and its still typically warm by lunchtime. Let’s face it though, I’m usually 3 or 4 cups in by lunch.

Water Bottle

Another drinking thing? Yep. I’m going to use the same argument again, no spills. There’s also something about having a bottle of water nearby, we just drink it more, which is great!
